TALK ABOUT EQUALITY

TALK ABOUT EQUALITY is intended to be an educational forum for those wishing to discuss equal rights.

While this is not a discussion board, the intention of this site is to inform you of discussions going on in your communities and to eventually develop modes of communication for those wishing to express their feelings and concerns in a productive way.

There are hundreds of exciting groups, organizations and leaders rising up from what is currently going on in our political community.

There is a fight for Civil Rights that has begun and will not end until we have achieved full equality. We cannot do this without education. We cannot do this without changing the minds of those who would vote against us and therefore, we cannot do this without letting our friends and loved ones KNOW who we are.

NOW is the time when we need to come out. NOW is the time when we need to keep our friends close, and those who don’t yet know us, closer. TALK ABOUT EQUALITY. Talk about YOUR rights and YOUR human desire to marry and to spend your life with the person you choose to be with.

On the following pages, you will find information on upcoming events which will give you the ability to speak out and to listen to others; some information on how to construct a conversation that will be productive and educational for both parties; and resources for those who need further assistance or for those who would like to help in other ways.

We will have our Equality. But it will not happen if we don’t TALK ABOUT IT.

While discussing Equality, please visit the “TOP TEN” link here to give you the basics on why Equal Rights Marriage is important.

In the coming weeks, we will be posting action alerts as well as further information on how you can become a part of the fight for Equality.

In the meantime, we urge you to come out of the closet, speak to your friends and family and even those you don’t know about equality and visit the following websites for further information on actions you can take:

WELCOME TO TALKABOUTEQUALITY.ORG

We can no longer allow people to say things such as “I love gays, my brother is gay...” or “some of my best friends are gay...” while at the same time voting for and funding the denial of our civil rights

We can no longer allow people to use their religious texts as a shield. Using them to persecute any minority is wrong. It is not religious freedom, it is bigotry.

This is OUR opportunity to stand on the right side of Equality...but we cannot do so without our allies. Talk to people. Tell them who you are and have a REAL conversation. The time is now and if you don’t speak up for yourself, no one else will.
